Job Description

All employees have Environment, Health and Safety roles and responsibilities, and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy, including Emergency Preparedness and Response as defined in site-wide documentation. Employees are responsible for knowing the equipment and process operation, operating powered industrial trucks to handle, store, and transport raw materials and finished products; provide routine minor maintenance to specified equipment; maintain quality standards and take corrective action as needed; and housekeeping. Operator will be required to work a shift schedule, and work overtime and holidays as production demands dictate. Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in the area as specified.



  • Comply with all plant environmental, health, safety, and process safety standards and procedures.¬  Report hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.

  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures and quality standards as well as participate in quality and process improvement initiatives as required.

  • Operate forklift and powered industrial trucks.

  • Measure and record product storage in various vessels as directed.

  • Inspect containers, railcars, silos and other containers as required.

  • Transfer materials between various types of shipping vessels such as trucks, railcars, silos and containers.

  • Transfer raw materials

  • Prepare and approve finished product for shipment to include retrieving and printing packaging specifications from a computer and document shipment meets required specifications.

  • Operate silo and related equipment; bagger operation, and stretch wrap machine.

  • Operate various packaging equipment in order to complete material packaging and/or repackaging to customer requirements.

  • Complete data sheets, environmental emission reports, inventory sheets, forklift inspection reports, etc. in an electronic format or a hardcopy format as directed.

  • Complete overage and shortage reports within a prescribed time period.

  • Collect and prepare samples of material for analysis.

  • Understand various health, safety and environmental issues involved with various products being handled.

  • Troubleshoot process equipment.

  • Warehouse cleanup, trash and waste material disposal to include hazardous material spills reporting, containment and clean up.

  • Work as a team with other warehousemen, plant operators and truck drivers to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials and products.

  • Perform environmental, safety and regulatory inspections, and complete checklists.

  • Complete all regulatory testing and attend safety meetings as required.

Required Skills


    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.¬  Ability to write simple correspondence.¬  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to perform operations, using units of American weight, measurement, volume, and distance.


    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.


    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.¬  The employee is required to sit, climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.¬  The employee must navigate stairs and/or ladders.¬  The employee must lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and lift and/or move greater than 55 pounds with assistance.¬  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb stairs or ladders, or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.¬  Occasional use of ladders and stairs which exceed 50 ft. in height.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 1 year of verifiable work experience

  • Forklift license

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
